This young Coopers Hawk and adult male Yellow Shafted Northern Flicker were found at the foot of a building that stands next a open surface parking lot in Chicago's loop. Chasing the flicker, the coopers hawk had no time to react as the flicker mistook a window for a small opening of sky. Both crashed into the window, one after the other and landed next to each other. These birds are now a part of The Field Museum's collection.

This is an astonishingly beautiful post.
Shocking,......yet tender in a way.
