so i'm here in ganesh's office - listening to subash instruct some poor american dude in the next room with an electronic beep machine - he must tighten up the calculations! - the streets here are nuts - really must watch everything you do - the traffic in every size, shape and form is coming at youfrom all directions - the sheets on the bed were gross - had them change them this morning -
the hotel is funky but not bad - dive-bombing mosquitoes inspired a new mandolin instrumental - very quiet at night til the train comes rushing by - didn't sleep a lot - watched tv which was amazing - krsna videos with people dressed in the most amazing costumes acting out some great myth - to crass commercial hysterical videos and baby soft and tampon commercials with the most suburban american/middle class values - got up early just after dawn to photograph cows in the street eating garbage - watching people lay flower wreaths outside the vishnu temple - had some rice and hot choclate with ganesh at his place - one of the nicest buildings on the block for sure - now awaiting my first lesson with krishna, subash's 25 year old keyboard fusion playing son - so all is well - enlightenment comes in small packages - talked with u. rajesh this morning- his new album just came out - so we will meet this week and try to figure out when and where to play , talk to you later - jdk
ps - first thing i saw this morning on tv was a giant nagaswaram duet! they traditionally play these large, loud double-reed instruments at weddings - they would iritate and scare the sh-t out of most westerners
