Okay you guys, You're not gonna believe this but I just acted in my first Bollywood film! I was trying to get off the insanely overcrowded Lake Park Road - dodging autorickshaws, trucks, cabs, cows, motorbikes etc - feeling kind of crabby as I'm covered in mosquito bites and it's the hottest day yet and I itch - when I took the side road around the temple and saw a crane with a camera - walked over to take a few pix - a scene of a man about to jump from the ledge of a building, the crowd gathered in the street - people yelling various things when the assistant director comes up to me and asks if I would stand in the crowd - token American - so I say "yeah, sure."
They shoot the take nearly twenty times - By the way he tells me to leave on my cool sunglasses I bought last summer in Croatia - It's hot and sticky but what the hell - I shot a dozen or so pix - then they break for lunch and the director asks if I'd like to eat - spicy beets and fried rice and cauliflower we start talking about Bush and he asks me how I feel about the Iraq war and the republicans etc so we get into it - Then he says could you yell "I'm helpless! Go talk to Bush! to the man about to jump and I say "Sure! That's just about how I feel every day in NYC" 3 takes later and I've got my first talking role in Bollywood in a film called Tamil Mu directed by Mr. Ram, due out this June - So I ran over here to the MahaGanesh internet stall for the AC, a bottle of water and to spread the word - I'm going back to talk with the director who said he might have a house for me to stay in with no BUGS! I'll give him a couple CD's and my card - We'll see - maybe I'll even get a check - At the very least another strange credit on my resume - Yes, Veddy Good John Kruthi!
